The nature of religion is one of the most fundamental issues in the field of the philosophy of religion and determines the approach of various schools of thought towards various religious issues such as the origin of religion, the truth of religion, the language of religion, the scope of religion, the functions of religion, and so on. Daniel Clement Dennett, an American physicalist philosopher of mind, is a prominent figure of the new atheism and an influential voice in the propagation of a naturalistic view of religion. This necessitates a thorough examination and evaluation of his perspectives in this area. Therefore, this article aims to descriptively and analytically analyze his views on the subject. The result of the research highlights various errors in Dennett's explanation of the nature of religion, falling into traps of fallacies such as the fallacy of accident and essence, begging the question, unwarranted generalizations, as well as numerous shortcomings, inaccuracies, and other issues.
